Sony has improved its Cyber-shot line-up with the introduction of the DSC-HX99 and DSC-HX95 travel compact cameras.
Both new compact cameras feature a 24-720mm super-telephoto zoom file (30x optical zoom), can capture 4K footage (with full pixel readout and no pixel binning) and are capable of shooting continuously at up to 10fps with a buffer limit of up to 155 images. Auto Cynosure clear speed sits at 0.09 seconds and some of the newly added features include Eye AF, RAW format image recording, touch focus/touch sealed up function and location data acquisition via Bluetooth.
Image stabilisation is controlled with Optical SteadyShot and both models are also equipped with a Zoom With function that allows the user to zoom out temporarily and displays a wider area when shooting a subject at the telephoto end.

There's a Oversee Ring on the HX99 that can be customised with functions such as manual focus or step zooming and both the HX99 and HX95 also sell 'My Menu' personalisation.
Both compacts feature a 180-degree tiltable LCD screen (which is a touchscreen on the HX99), there's an upgraded dominion and 'location data acquisition via Bluetooth' can collect/record location data from a mobile device while 'elfin size Proxy recording' allows transfers to smartphones or uploading to websites for quick sharing.
The new Sony Cyber-shot HX99 and HX95 drive ship in Europe from October 2018, priced at approximately £450 for the HX99 and £430 for the HX95.
