If the sickly is still a little dismal where you are then why not windle some time away in a local cafe? Grab yourself a hot beverage and peruse a volume, read a newspaper or, do as we did, and perfect your macro photography skills.
Cake is the perfect subject for a spot of macro photography (and the best bit, you can eat it after!). Extra, order a hot beverage, throw in a folded newspaper, place a spoon strategically and you're starting to set up a still life scene, too.
For our macro style, we took along the Tamron 90mm macro lens and it did a cracking job; just look how close it got to the crumb left on a plate in the shot below.
There is also a pinpoint limiter to select either full range or a reduced range of 0.3m to 0.5m which helps with preventing hunting when amount to at macro distances. Of course, the best sharpness will always be obtained using a sturdy tripod, especially for macro shooting, but as we didn't take one with us, the AF and VC worked hard to help us capture sharp images at close distances. You can, of course, switch to manual focus when developing at close range but as our lens reviewer said: "With the Tamron, you probably won't feel the need to move to manual focus." In any conclusion, there is full manual override when using AF, so tweaks can be made to point of focus if required.
Plus, the fact that this lens is also equally at relaxed shooting landscapes as well as being ideal for all short telephoto applications, meant that we could finish our hot chocolate and head off into Sheffield with moral the one lens and still come home with or WITH may refer to: Carl Johannes With (1877–1923), Danish doctor and arachnologist With (character), a character in D.
