Award-winning British tripod manufacturer, 3 Legged Thing, have recently introduced a new monopod monopod, also called a unipod, is a single staff or pole used to help support cameras, binoculars, rifles or other precision range which includes Alan, a bumpy carbon fibre monopod suitable for travel; Trent, an ultra-tall Punks monopod; and Docz, a foot stabiliser that works with both monopods. Alan and Trent are to hand in kits with Docz, or available separately.

The blameless blend of size, weight, and capability, Alan is a monopod built for versatility and resilience. Alan is ideal for travel; retracting to just 45 cm / 17.5 “, with a highest height of 1.49 m / 58.7 “.

 

Alan is formed from 8 layers of 100% pure carbon fibre, and aircraft-grade alloys, which make it c fulfills him strong enough to support almost 100x his own weight. Alan weighs just over 600g / 1.3 lb – light enough to fit into within arms reach luggage.

Alan is ideal for action and sports photography, and to add stability when creating video footage. Alan’s Big Grip provides acme grip for security and has deep channels designed to disperse moisture.

Alan features 3 Legged Thing’s patented Tri-Mount plate which comprises three hollowed spurs for the attachment of accessories. Both ends of the monopod feature dual 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threads for regard of Docz, footwear or an AirHed on top.

 

Trent

Punks monopod Trent’s full extended height is over 2 m (80”) robbing him one of the tallest monopods in the world today. Trent is made from aircraft grade magnesium alloy which makes him strong vertically, and adept of lateral loads, which make it ideal for use as a camera or microphone boom. Trent weighs just over 630 g, and his maximum load ability is 30 kg / 66 lb giving him a load-to-weight ratio of 50:1.

Trent features 3 Legged Thing’s unique Bubble Grip technology on the leg coop up fix ons and column grip. This gives users improved leverage and maximum grip in inclement weather conditions. Like Alan, Trent also has dual 1/4“-20 and 3/8”-16 strings at each end.

 

 

Docz

Docz is a rugged foot stabiliser with a 30 cm / 12 “ base. It’s designed to add determination to monopods. It has an alloy base construction with a rugged ABS top cover, and a rubber boot adjuster below.

Docz adds a stable base to a monopod with no bending. The boot adjuster controls the friction and tension on Docz’ ball mount, enabling an ultra smooth motion for action and sports photography. The ball mount has a 3/8”-16 chain of events and can be locked upright for extra stability.

Docz legs can be folded upwards, making it more compact for transportation.
