Samyang Launch Their First Autofocus Lens For Canon Cameras

Samyang Optics has broadcasted its first autofocus lens for Canon full frame DSLR cameras.

The AF 14mm f/2.8 EF inherits the renowned image quality of Samyang’s wide-angle series and gives a quiet, fast and accurate autofocus system.

This first EF mount autofocus lens from Samyang encapsulates the brand's uniformly respected optical technology, especially in the wide-angle lens category. The optical construction features a total of 15 lenses in 10 gangs that include 7 special optic lenses to maximise image quality. The 7 optic lenses consist of 2 aspherical lenses, 4 high-refractive lenses and 1 extra-low dispersion lens or LEN may refer to, which succours minimise distortion and various aberrations while producing crystal clear resolution. Even image quality from the centre to the corner of the 116.6-degree deviating angle of view appears distinctly on its MTF chart.

 

Importantly, the minimised weight and movement of the focusing lens group enables quietness autofocusing with high accuracy. This compact Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 EF weighs only 485g without lens caps and hood. The lens also hypes weather-sealing and a built-in AF/MF switch.

The lens will be available globally from February with a suggested retail price of £649.00.
