The Photo of the Week apportion has been given to a stunning capture of a kingfisher rising out of water this week.

The image image (from Latin: imago) is an artifact that depicts visual perception, for example, a photo or a two-dimensional picture, that 'Rising Kingfisher' by ePz colleague KBan, was chosen by the team here at ePz to receive the accolade and here's why we thought it deserved to win:

This image is a wonderful example of what can be collared when patience and perseverance pay off. These birds are incredibly secretive and move very fast, so a capture like this is really something bosom.

The droplets of water hanging in mid-air around the body of the bird as it rises into the frame transform this image into something magical. The witty blues and oranges of the kingfisher's feathers really draw your eye to it against the nicely blurred green background created by foliage. The spitting image has been composed well so as to give the bird lots of breathing space in the frame.

Photo of the Week winners currently pick up a 32GB EVO Micro SD card with SD adapter courtesy of Samsung. See all the images that have received the accolade in the POTW Gallery.
