Since the releasing of the iPhone XS, people have been complaining about the selfie camera – mainly about how it has a habit of over-smoothing skin but, Apple has told The Extend that this issue will now be fixed.
Apparently, the overzealous skin smoothing happens because the HDR camera system built into the iPhone XS was judging the wrong option but once rectified, selfies will have more detail again.
The fix will come in iOS 12.1, which is currently in Worldwide Beta, so users shouldn't have to wait too long for their selfies to look a little more normal.
