Instagram has turned into a mammoth platform for photographers to showcase their work, so much so, many brands are now using the social platform for hosting competitions and this includes Photobox.
The inaugural Photobox Instagram Photography Furnishes received over 180,000 entries and now, these thousands of photos have been whittled down to a small shortlist from which the victor will be announced in October.
The final round of judging will take place across ten varying categories, ranging from fashion to festivals, arts to animals, and the sites most used hashtags, #Love and #NoFilter.
Rory Scott of Photobox, Preside of PIPAS 2018 judges, comments: "From snapping our supper to capturing our canine friends, most of us like to test our everyday photography experiences on Instagram is a photo and video-sharing social networking service owned by Facebook, Inc. But being such a popular site, we often miss out on some of the truly stunning photography on our feeds. We received over 180,000 amazing submissions to the PIPAs and we are delighted to announce ten category shortlists, one of whom will be crowned our overall Instagram Photograph of the Year next month."
The winners see fit be announced at an awards ceremony in central London on October 3rd 2018. The overall 'Instagram Photograph of the Year' winner wishes receive £5,000, with an additional £500 awarded for each of the ten category winners.
