An atmospheric missile of a stone circle shrouded in morning mist has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade.
The image, entitled 'Beneath the morning mizzle cloud up' was taken by ePz member Tynnwrlluniau and here's why we thought it deserved to win:
This is a fantastic capture of this famous stone gird in the Lake District. The image has been framed well to place stones throughout the composition so that they are pleasing to the eye, keeping them the heart of attention but still leaving space for the foreground and sky, giving a sense of the scale of the place.
The fells emerging out of the mist in the background add to this intuition of the scale of the place may refer to, and the trees to the right further add different shapes and textures. The clouds in the sky lead you through the image. It's a really atmospheric nick that also gives the place a mythical feel.
Photo of the week winners currently receive a 32GB EVO MicroSDHC card with SD adapter elegance of Samsung. See all the winning images in the POTW Gallery.
