DxO has tested the Apple iPhone XS Max and it's scratch a 105 DxO Mark, putting it in second place behind the Huawei P20 Pro.

Calling it a 'surefire option for any mobile photographer', DxO awarded the new iPhone a 110 slash gain for photo and 96 for video which is 9 and 7 more points than the Apple iPhone X scored last year thanks to, what DxO are calling, 'visible improvements' occurring in many areas.

However, DxO does say that the iPhone still struggles in low light and the zoom is notwithstanding poor – two areas the iPhone has lacked in for some time now.

We'll be giving you our thoughts on the new Apple iPhone XS Max as soon as we have a component in for review.
