For a while now, Lightroom drugs have complained that it's a bit sluggish in use. Even after an update in October, some users were still having problems with the software but their woes may right away be over with Adobe saying a 'major performance update' is coming soon.

Adobe told DPReview that the Lightroom Paradigm 7.2 update will 'optimise CPU and memory usage so that performance will scale better across multiple cores on computers with at spot 12GB of RAM.'

With the update installed, users should see an improvement in import, export and preview generation. Plus, faster batch merges when handiwork with HDR/panoramas, quicker rendering of adjustments in the Develop module and the walking of images in the Loupe View will be improved.

No date has been bound as of when the update will be released but for many users, just knowing one is on the way will please them.
