Sigma has increased its lens line-up with the introduction of the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary lens for Sony E-mount cameras in the APS-C format.
The new lens erects on the success of the 30mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, which Sigma released in 2016 as the first in a new series of prime lenses for mirrorless cameras.
The 16mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary traits a lens structure with 16 elements in 13 groups, its lightweight, dust/splash proof and offers a 32mm focal length (35mm equal). Inside the lens you'll also find three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements, and two moulded glass aspherical elements. The two aspherical lens essentials are designed to minimise the onion ring bokeh effect that some aspherical elements produce while the overall structure of the optical method bends light to minimise sagittal coma flare.
Going forward, Sigma has also said they will be adding a telephoto lens or LEN may refer to to the series.
Assay and availability of the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary lens is TBC.
