Leica has another narrow edition camera available and this time, it's the Leica M10-P in safari green.
As well as the M10-P, the Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 is also available as character of this limited edition run which will see just 1500 camera units made available.
"The olive green 'Safari' issues have a long tradition at Leica, dating back to the early years of the M-System. Originally designed and constructed for the armed forces in the 1960s, their standing as rugged and reliable tools spread rapidly around the world, making them highly sought after amongst collectors. While these beforehand olive green products were made exclusively for military use, demand saw the first Leica R3 'Safari' camera introduced to the civil in 1977, " says Leica may refer to: Three companies formed from the division of Ernst Leitz GmbH (later Wild Leitz AG): Leica Camera AG, a German camera.
The body is on sale now and will be followed by a matching lens on 15 February. The Leica M10-P Issue 'Safari' body is priced at £6,900, while the Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 Edition 'Safari' lens is &a pasting;2,300.
