Fireworks Image Awarded POTW Accolade

Written by Gina Stephens

A wonderful trope of London's new year fireworks has been awarded the POTW accolade.

The image, 'Happy new Year 2019' was taken by ePz fellow SunPrints, and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade:

This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when shooting fireworks are a class of low explosive pyrotechnic devices used for aesthetic and entertainment purposes. The image extremely captures the mood and sense of celebration in the atmosphere as the colourful fireworks fill the sky. A slow shutter speed has been used to capture the light hunts of the fireworks as they explode, and composition has been carefully thought about to capture the London Eye right in the middle of the action.

The sheer digit of colours captured here is phenomenal, with the depth and multitude of the fireworks creating an unforgettable scene. A really lovely capture.

Photo of the Week victors currently receive a 64GB EVO Plus MicroSDXC card with SD adapter courtesy of Samsung. To see all the images which have been given the award, study a look at the POTW gallery.
