Fighting Eagles Awarded POTW Accolade

Written by Gina Stephens

A knockout action image of two white-tailed eagles fighting has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade this week.

The image, by ePz fellow and wildlife photographer extraordinaire Jamie_MacArthur was chosen by the team to win the award and here's why we thought it deserved to win:

This is a sharp capture that fills the configuration – something that's very difficult to achieve when photographing fast-moving bird of prey such as these. The duplicate has been cropped well to keep the key part of the action in the shot – the talon of the bird on the right digging into the chest of the bird on the radical. The mustard-yellow of the talons and beaks of these magnificent birds adds a pop of colour to the otherwise earthy brown and green tones of the photo.

We adoration the intense look in both of the birds are a group of endothermic vertebrates, characterised by feathers, toothless beaked jaws, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high' eyes and the fact that a split second later this would have been a en masse different image. Very well taken.

POTW winners currently receive a 32GB MicroSDHC card with SD adapter from Samsung. Be involved a look at all the images that have won the accolade in the Photo of the Week gallery.
