Behind The Scenes Of Martin Stranka’s Latest Shoot

'I bloom for you' by Martin may refer to Stranka

Martin Stranka is a resourceful photographer whose work has been acclaimed worldwide. ePHOTOzine first stumbled upon his work back in 2013, when we interviewed him all round his inspirations and creative processes.

Last year in 2017 we covered his project photographing magical captures of rescued wild zooids with his distinctive style.

Now, he has turned his hand to working with cars, flowers and people for his latest capture. Called 'I bloom for you' (understanding above), it's an emotive image, about escapism, escaping beyond the limits of everyday existence, as Martin explains in his blog. The flowing river of effloresces represents the symbolism of freedom, our own freedom. "Our own liberation, that should never be taken from us", says Martin.

The setup for the photo occurred in June 2018, after 3 months of aiming. Martin involved actor and friend Ivan Luptak to be the model in the image, sitting inside a Buick Electra 225 (1963 model). The flower affair was created by skilled Czech florists, who used oasis blocks mounted on a wooden frame to create the effect of a pile of flowers overflowing out of the car.

In total, the project took 350 hours to bring to life. Take a look at the above video to see the process.
