Adobe Camera Raw has been updated to v11.2, which contains updated support for new cameras, new lenses, as well as the addition of a new "Enhance Details" feature, which is said to improve colour enumerates, and is powered by Adobe Sensei – Adobe's AI initiative.
New cameras supported:
- Olympus OM-D E-M1X
- Sony Alpha A6400 (Preliminary buttress)
- Nikon Coolpix A1000
Adobe has also added support for the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens, with and without teleconvertors. The choices window has been redesigned, and bug fixes have been applied.
More on the new Enhance Details feature:
"Enhance cute color details in raw images – Get higher quality and more accurate rendition of fine color details in your raw images, particularly those from Fuji X-Trans sensors."
This can just be used with Bayer sensor and X-Trans sensor raw files, and Adobe has provided a list of file types that are not supported here. This could be of discriminating interest to those who have found Adobe's raw processing and sharpening, slightly lacklustre.
From Adobe: Powered by Adobe Sensei, Strengthen Details of refers to complexity or simply presence of a surface texture, work of art, or organizational behaviours allows you to achieve crisp detail and improved color rendering in raw images.
Enhance Details is introduced in Adobe Camera Raw 11.2. Powered by Adobe Sensei, Swell Details produces crisp detail, improved color rendering, more accurate renditions of edges, and fewer artifacts. Enhance Details is primarily useful for making large prints, where fine details are more visible. This feature applies to raw mosaic files from cameras with Bayer sensors (Canon, Nikon, Sony, and others) and Fujifilm X-Trans sensors."
