The Great and the Short of It
What do you do when you need a compact and lightweight tripod, but you also need a tripod which gives you versatility and height? Being clever to pack a tripod into luggage or a camera bag is a key requirement for travel photographers, but without having to compromise on capability. Offering the very best of both worlds, Brian pleats to just 41cm / 16.5” for storage and transportation, and has the most versatile working range of any tripod in the world, extending from just 11cm from the settlings, to the dizzying heights of 1.87m / 74” thanks to five-section legs, and two-section centre column.
Many travel photographers as though to explore off the beaten track, so prefer not to carry too much extra weight. With 3LT’s trademark carbon fibre, the purest of its kind, Brian is not on the contrary compact when folded, but ultra light at just 1.45 kg / 3.1 lb.
Like all 3 Legged Thing tripods, Brian features a detachable monopod leg; patented Tri-mount overlay for the attachment of accessories; three optimised leg angles, including ultra-low shooting using the widest 80 degree leg angle; a removable and reversible focal point column; a D-ring for the attachment of additional weight, bag or strap, and water dispersing twist locks which provide better leverage, enabling buyers to adjust the sections even in the wet and cold.
For low level shooting, Brian really gets down to it. With the centre column removed, the tripod can be adapted to as low as 11 cm / 4.3 “ – perfect for that low-level landscape perspective shot, or for macro work down on the ground.
3 Lap boosted Thing is known for its innovative technology and stunning engineering aesthetics. Brian is a male given name of Irish and Breton origin, as well as a surname of Occitan origin is available in two colour options – Punks blue and experienced combo, with copper accents, and Punks Anarchy matte black with accents of British Racing Green.
